Strategy and growth
Build the operating rhythm behind the growth plan
Operloom designs the processes around growth delivery: how work enters the system, how it is prioritised, who approves it, what happens at a hand-off and how the team learns from each release.
01Business problems
The work is moving, but the system is not learning
Growth stalls when requests, approvals, data and ownership move through separate informal systems. More activity creates more coordination cost instead of more learning.
- Campaign requests arrive without a clear objective or owner
- Marketing and sales use different priorities and definitions
- Approvals become the hidden critical path
- Launch checklists live in somebody else's memory
- Results are reported but do not change the next decision
02Operating model
Define how work should move
The target operating model names the stages, roles, controls and information required from an idea entering the backlog to a reviewed result.
- 01Intake criteria and a single route for new requests
- 02Prioritisation rules connected to strategic objectives
- 03Roles, decision rights and approval thresholds
- 04Standard hand-offs between marketing, sales and operations
- 05Definition of ready and definition of done
03Planning and delivery
A cadence the team can sustain
Planning is set at the longest useful horizon, while delivery happens in smaller cycles that expose risk and dependencies early.
- Quarterly outcomes and capacity allocation
- Monthly initiative planning and dependency review
- Weekly delivery and blocker review
- Reusable briefs, checklists and release criteria
- Visible backlog with explicit trade-offs
04Revenue alignment
Make the hand-offs observable
Shared definitions and response standards connect demand generation to the people responsible for qualification, follow-up and pipeline progression.
- 01Lifecycle and qualification definitions
- 02Lead acceptance and rejection reasons
- 03Response-time expectations and escalation
- 04Campaign feedback from sales outcomes
- 05Shared pipeline and source reporting
05Continuous improvement
Close the loop after every release
Review routines separate useful learning from retrospective opinion and create a traceable decision about what changes next.
- Pre-launch hypothesis and success criteria
- Post-launch quality and data check
- Performance review against the agreed baseline
- Decision log with owner and next review date
- Retirement process for work that no longer earns its cost
Common questions
Question: Is growth operations the same as marketing operations?
They overlap, but the scope is different. Growth operations focuses on the cross-functional system that turns commercial priorities into coordinated experiments and releases. Marketing operations goes deeper into campaign processes, data, platforms and governance inside marketing.
Question: Do we need new software to improve the operating model?
Not necessarily. Many improvements come from simplifying intake, clarifying decision rights and standardising hand-offs before any platform change is justified.
